our story
The history and inspiration to Alvyn Negril is firmly attributable to one man, my father Alvyn Dunbar. Originally constructed in the mid 1990's, the building was designed to add glamour and offer a different alternative to staying/eating along Negril's West End Road. The intimate location yet vast expanse of the view would offer both locals and tourists alike the opportunity to enjoy an area of untapped/unused natural beauty in a way which had not been possible up to this point.
However after some considerable delay, circumstances changed dramatically in 2007 when my father passed away. It was at this point I decided to reconstruct the building and convert it primarily to a guest house and name it in his honor. Its been an incredible journey in development driven by emotion, passion, determination and love. Alvyn Negril is more than a place to stay, it really has a reason for being. Situated on Negril's West End Cliffs, it's a combination of beauty and tranquility for all who pass to enjoy.
